CLUB HISTORY
Club History (21/06/07)

Middlewich Town FC was formed in 1998 by the amalgamation of Middlewich Athletic with the teams of Middlewich Town Youth. The Club now has Junior Squads ranging from Under 8's to Under 16's as well as a First XI and Reserve Teams

Middlewich Athletic have been based at Seddon Street since 1912 and have played at many different levels throughout the years. The ground and facility is now help in a Trust for the purposes of providing a football facility within the town. The current trustholders are Steve Morris, Steve Tutt, Ernie Poole and Andy Cann.

Middlewich Town Football Club rent the facility from the Trust and pay a quarterly rental for the facility, the terms of the agreement means that MTFC are responsible for the upkeep of the overall facility.#

The Middlewich Youth section has teams at all levels in the Mid Cheshire Youth League and the aim of the club is to provide a feeder system for the two senior teams, the 2003/2004 reserves have at least 7 ex junior players in the team and the first team have 2 ex junior players

Middlewich Town Football Club comprises of two entities the Football section and the Sports and Social Club. It is important to note that the club is run on entirely a voluntary basis of all its people with the exception of some of the bar staff that are paid employees. The coaches, managers and committee members all give their time freely with the aim to building a sustainable club for the future.

MTFC looks to be part of the community with the social club being used by external organisations such as the local residents association for their regular monthly meetings. We use the school facilities at Park Road, St Mary's and Cledford with the aim to taking football into the school environment and giving the children somewhere where they can play football in a safe and competitive place with and emphasis on skills development and social interaction

Over the years the facilities at Seddon Street have improved, the existing club house was built approximately 20 years ago replacing the wooden club house at the opposite end of the site. The building of the All weather pitch in 1996 was a major upgrade to the facility and is now used for training by all of the teams during winter, whilst being used to external leagues such as the 6 a side league that is run every summer. The facility is also available for hire by interested parties. The latest development has provided the club with the best facilities in the Mid Cheshire League
